I’m going to give it to you straight. Everyone loves to clap, feature, celebrate, and rely on Jenn The Tutor's College Access work. Few people donate.

We’ve collected less than $1000 in donations this quarter. Our work is cost between $5000-$15000 a quarter… you see the problem? It’s time for us to be audacious. We need to be bold

The ask: $5000-$20,000. More would be great, $5000 would make a huge difference

The method: converting 50 of you into $100-$400 donors today. We will take more donors or larger donations

I need help to continue supporting students who want to go to college.

So I am asking for donations.

Since 2019, I've run Jenn The Tutor, with my father who manages me, as a For-Profit Business. We've always had a non-profit element that allowed me to provide Pro-Bono Services as well as discounted rates and waive fees for clients

as needed. Some of our Pro Bono Work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Pro-Bono SAT and ACT test prep classes

  • Pro-Bono SAT and ACT 1-on-1 prep

  • Counseling students with Scholarship Applications

  • Providing snacks, pencils, calculators for SAT and ACT for Test Days

  • As well as gas, car-sharing, bus fees to tests

  • Paying persistent SAT and ACT fees

  • Educating students on SAT and ACT test biases and test-optional policies so students don't internalize low scores and know opportunities and financial aid/scholarships exists

  • Even if there is a low or no SAT/ACT score

  • Creating community-based College Admissions Support Groups

  • Helping students with financial aid appeals

  • Helping students apply & enroll in rolling colleges after the "Decision Day" deadline

  • Helping transport students to college or orientation

  • Stocking dorms with supplies

  • Keeping the College Admissions Support Group Completely Free in Year 1 & Free for 3 Months in Year 2

  • Reducing the Cost Significantly for the College Admissions Support Group for Year 2

  • Providing members of the College Admissions Support Group in need with Full Scholarships in year 2

  • Providing Free Consulting Leading up to "Decision Day" And Free Financial Aid Appeals Support/Workshops

And It's Made a Difference

I’m proud of what we've done over the years. Many of these endeavors were self-funded I was lucky to have donors along the way too.

While my desire to help my students does not have limits my wallet, unfortunately, does have limits. Bills... Bills... Bills...

Words cannot describe how helpful it is to have support. It gives me the space freedom and opportunity to expand our support. It allows me to give more of my time, take on more pro-bono students, and not hesitate to help as needed. It gives me breathing room.

I’ve always struggled to ask for support. I’ve taken on debt and sought out loans. I lost my income during the pandemic and tried and failed to get a PPP loan.

The work continued. In fact, the work expanded since the pandemic started. We did our best work during low or no-income periods. And we're lucky to have donors support us then too.

Now we need a community. To take the steps with us. We need your help. I need your help.

There is a college out there looking for the students I encounter. A college that will see the same value I see, treat them with dignity and respect, nurture them, allow them to grow, looking for the impact only that student can create.

The work continues but it can have a greater impact with your support.

Right now we are

  • Taking students to college

  • Going to orientation as needed

  • Helping to stock dorms

  • Planning pro-bono and low-cost admissions workshops

  • Covering emergency costs

  • Funding college tours

  • Figuring out how many months we can afford

  • Of Free Admissions Counseling Programming

  • Establishing a Non-Profit

  • And filling in many gaps

Doing whatever we have to do to support our students. The work will continue. I ask you to come with us on the journey

This is the part, where you decide how much you can donate and we say Thank You.

SERIOUSLY, THANK YOU

We Can't Do All This Without Support.

See You Soon
