College and Scholarship Application Consulting

Want to see what it is like to work with Jenn the Tutor without making a significant commitment? Would you like to get support on an application or two but don’t want/need a longer commitment? Our College and Scholarship Application Consulting package is perfect for students who need assistance with 1 or 2 college applications or scholarships and want to work with Jenn The Tutor for a short-term engagement

Our signature group tutoring program for Black Female students.

College Admissions Support Circles©

In addition to our College Admissions Support Group© we also work with students who have formed their own College Admissions Support Circles© for students from all backgrounds including from historically excluded groups (ex: students with disabilities, first-generation students, Latinx, Black, AAPI, Indigenous students) . These circles are sponsored by individuals, communities, and/or organizations or fund their own cost while Jenn the Tutor facilitates.

One-on-one College Admissions ConsultinG

Want Jenn the Tutor by your side for the entire college admissions season? Jenn The Tutor provides 1-on-1 services to students who need support working through multiple college applications and/or who want assistance throughout the College Admissions season leading up to Decision Day. Our services include determining if a student should apply with an ACT/SAT score or applying test-optional consulting, cultivating a college list, editing and consulting on all portions of the college application/scholarship applications, negotiating financial aid, preparing for scholarship interviews, and/or official college visits, etc.

SAT and ACT Tutoring

We have a limited number of spots for students who would like to work with Jenn The Tutor on SAT and ACT prep. We work with students who

1. Are taking their first SAT or ACT to determine if the test is the right fit for them

2. Have qualified for National Merit Scholar and need to work towards a higher score

3. Working towards Bright Futures Scholarship

4. Working towards a specific SAT or ACT score required for a scholarship

5. Are working towards a score goal for a college that requires the SAT and ACT

6. Students who were told by a College Admissions or Enrollment professional at the school they applied to that they need to improve their score

7. Students who are required to improve their score to receive an athletic or extracurricular opportunity

We no longer work with students who are improving the SAT and ACT for the sake of a competitive edge. Specifically, we do not work with students retesting to improve their scores with the hopes that will result in a better shot at admissions. Our perfect scorers for the SAT and ACT have been rejected or accepted but have not received scholarships. In addition, our test-optional students have received full-ride and been accepted. We do not subscribe to the idea that a SAT or ACT score can improve admissions outcomes unless there is tangible evidence to prove otherwise.

HOW We support students who need financial support

Jenn The Tutor dedicates a portion of every single purchase to providing pro-bono services to students and her community. In addition, Jenn the Tutor regularly solicits donations to continue to fund pro-bono services and provide students with partial and full scholarships.

For that reason, we no longer offer free discovery sessions or any “pick your brain” sessions.

What we offer instead:

1. We do offer full and partial scholarships for students facing financial hardships. These scholarships provide SAT/ACT prep, consulting services, and/or free access to our admissions support group. In the last cycle, we supported over 20 students through this program. Please reach out using the form below to request financial support.

2. We host events that are open to the public where students and questions can get their questions answered. Please sign up here.

3. We offer trial sessions for SAT/ACT Tutoring and College Admissions/Test-Optional Consulting

4. If you would like SAT/ACT tutoring services here is our process

   1. Fill out the form below

   2. We will reply back and request score reports

   3. If you do not have a score report we will send a practice test for you to complete and instructions on how to complete the practice test on your own. We will score the practice test

   4. Once we receive the score report and/or have your student complete a practice test we will email you with suggestions

   5. If you are interested in working with us a trial session will be arranged to see if we are the right fit for your students
